Since finishing optometry school she has taken numerous vision therapy courses, totaling well over 150 hours of continuing education, to further her knowledge in this exciting area. She began offering vision therapy to her patients in 2012, and, due to the high demand for these services, decided to expand and open her own Vision Therapy Clinic. The clinic opened on December 1, 2016, and is thriving. Dr. Cookson is very excited and motivated to make sure that all patients reach their vision goals. She continues to take part in continuing education here in Canada and the United States.
Dr. Cookson grew up in Georgetown and is excited to be able to open up her Vision Therapy Clinic in Halton and continue serving the community. She is the Ontario Provincial Representative for Vision Therapy Canada and a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists, College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and Optometric Extension Program Foundation.
