Dr. Laura Cookson OD, BSc
Doctor of Optometry
Developmental, Behavioural and Rehabilitative Optometrist
Dr. Cookson completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences, with honors, at the University of Guelph. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree, with honors, from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2011.

Dr. Cookson completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences, with honors, at the University of Guelph. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree, with honors, from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 2011. While in school, Dr. Cookson participated in an internship program that traveled around Jamaica, working with the Foundation for International Self Help (FISH). She performed full eye exams all over the country, in both rural and urban settings. Dr. Cookson also participated in an optometric mission trip to Chiapa de Corzo, Mexico, where the team provided free eye exams and glasses to over 1,700 residents. In her final year of optometry school, Dr. Cookson completed an internship focusing on ocular disease at the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, as well as a pediatric/binocular vision internship in Brampton, Ontario.
While in optometry school, Dr. Cookson developed a keen interest in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation. Since finishing optometry school she has taken numerous vision therapy courses, totaling well over 150 hours of continuing education, to further her knowledge in this exciting area. She began offering vision therapy to her patients in 2012, and, due to the high demand for these services, decided to expand and open her own Vision Therapy Clinic. The clinic opened on December 1, 2016, and is thriving. Dr. Cookson is very excited and motivated to make sure that all patients reach their vision goals. She continues to take part in continuing education here in Canada and the United States.
Dr. Cookson grew up in Georgetown and is excited to be able to open up her Vision Therapy Clinic in Halton and continue serving the community. She is the Ontario Provincial Representative for Vision Therapy Canada and a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Association of Optometrists, College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and Optometric Extension Program Foundation.
Dr. Charlene Hickey OD, MSc, BSc

Dr. Hickey completed her Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience at Queen’s University. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 2014.

Dr. Hickey completed her Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and a Master’s degree in Neuroscience at Queen’s University. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 2014. During her studies, she completed an externship at the St. Albans Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Queens, New York, where she gained valuable hands-on experience and training in ocular disease and therapeutics. At graduation, Dr. Hickey received the Alcon Award for Excellence in Ocular Health and was also named on the Dean’s Honour List.
Dr. Hickey is excited to join Dr. Cookson at InDepth Vision and to continue to serve the Milton community, where she has been practicing optometry since 2015. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and is deeply committed to providing her patients with thorough and exceptional eye care.
Dr. Hickey lives in Halton with her husband, their son Jacob, daughter Emily and dog Finn. Outside of work, Dr. Hickey loves spending time with her family: taking walks together in the park, relaxing at a coffee shop, or joining a mom & baby class.

Trish graduated with Honors from the Early Childhood Education Program at Sheridan College and returned the following year to complete the Educational Assistant program.

Trish graduated with Honors from the Early Childhood Education Program at Sheridan College and returned the following year to complete the Educational Assistant program. She went on to graduate from Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Studies with Children’s Education and Development Option, as well as, a minor in Psychology. Trish has a passion for teaching, learning, and helping others learn and grow their skills. Her education and passion have translated perfectly into becoming a Vision Therapist. Trish joined our team at InDepth Vision in 2017.
She is fascinated by the visual system and is furthering her knowledge by attending continuing education courses in the field of Optometric Vision Therapy. She successfully completed the Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program (PVTAP) through Vision Therapy Canada in 2019. Trish has boundless creativity, and you can often find her working on a new project for the vision therapy room!

Nicole joined the InDepth Vision team in 2021; bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from her over 20 years in the social services field.

Nicole joined the InDepth Vision team in 2021; bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from her over 20 years in the social services field. During those years, she graduated from the Educational Assistant program at Mohawk College and completed numerous courses in developmental services. Her primary focus has been supporting both adults and children with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and individuals on the spectrum. Helping people on their journey to discover their full potential and accomplish their goals is something she takes pride in.
Nicole enjoys living in the small community of Brant County where she and her husband are raising their children Josh and Jayne. In her free time, she values spending time in the company of her family and friends, looking after her chickens, spending time on the family’s Clydesdale farm, and catching up on Netflix.

Jackie started her career in the Optometry field in 2009. As an office manager, she oversaw all areas of patient care, staffing, and office operations. She also has an extensive background in insurance and customer service.

She also has an extensive background in insurance and customer service. Jackie is both knowledgeable and personable; add to that her great organizational skills, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have her as part of our team.
In her role as InDepth Vision’s office manager, Jackie oversees all aspects of customer service. She strives to ensure each patient receives professional, courteous care and has an enjoyable experience at our clinic. We are thrilled that she will be one of the first faces you meet when you enter our clinic.

Kuljit recently graduated from Sheridan College with a diploma in Advanced Business Marketing, and is very excited to start working in the Optometry Field. With knowledge and previous experience with various marketing tools, and social media platforms, she helps to create content to post on our social media pages.
Kuljit is very friendly, and always ready to be of help. In her role as InDepth Vision’s Patient Care Coordinator, she keeps the appointments running smoothly, and will often be the first voice you hear when you call the clinic. She is also in charge of our pre-testing, retinal imaging, and visual fields.
In her spare time, she loves cooking, baking, reading, and spending time with family.
